The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K–12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching.
Anyone—principals, teachers, parents, students, or members of the general public—may nominate exceptional STEM teachers who are currently teaching grades K – 6 for the 2023 – 2024 award year. Teachers may also apply directly at http://www.paemst.nsf.gov/.
The nomination deadline is January 8, 2024, and the application deadline is February 6, 2024, for ELEMENTARY K – 6 teachers. SECONDARY teachers in grades 7-12 will be eligible to apply during a future cycle.
The nationwide STEM competition invites public school students in grades 6-12 to become social impact change makers in their communities, while winning technology and classroom supplies along the way.
Entering the competition is easy and takes just a few minutes, all you need is one idea. We know brainstorming can feel overwhelming, but have no fear, Solve for Tomorrow can fit into any curriculum! Below are a few thought starters. Plus, get inspiration from past winners here.
Now through Friday, October 27th, public school teachers can submit their application by answering three simple questions. Sacred Heart University a Code.org Regional Partner will be offering Computer Science Fundamentals (CSF) and Computer Science Discoveries (CSD) workshops virtually and onsite during the school year. CSF is appropriate for ALL K-5 teachers and is a one-day workshop delivered onsite in person.
CSD is intended for educators teaching in grades 6-10. This workshop will be delivered during the school year and will require two hours per month of release time for teachers to participate.
Added incentives will be available for teachers to participate in the Lt. Governor’s Computing Challenge. Partial or full funding is available. Attached are flyers and more information for each program.

The CSDE invites Educators, Schools, or Districts to participate in a Computer Science and STEM Project-Based Learning (PBL) pilot program.
The goal of the pilot program is to support educators in providing opportunities for their students to develop computer science and STEM skills and knowledge while exposing them to careers in these fields. Educators will receive in-person and virtual professional learning and access to Computer Science and STEM PBL content through Defined Learning. The pilot program begins September 20, 2023, with in-person training. Participants will receive two virtual professional learning sessions through November 30, 2023. The CSDE is extending the deadline for submitting an application to the Dual Credit Expansion Grant to Friday, July 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM EDT. As of the prior deadline of July 17, 2023, the CSDE had received 78 applications requesting a total of approximately $3.7M. The CSDE is pleased to confirm that all 78 applications are being approved for funding. The CSDE also expects to approve any new applications received by 5 PM on July 28, 2023 for funding, so long as they conform to all grant requirements and expectations. The CSDE has hosted a series of information sessions since announcing the grant on May 1, 2023. Recordings for each of the sessions are posted on the Dual Credit Opportunities website. The CSDE has also created and posted a Dual Credit Expansion Grant FAQ to support any remaining districts to develop their applications. Code.org’s Regional Partner, Sacred Heart University will be offering CS Fundamentals training on August 17, 2023 from 9 to 3:30 on their West Campus. Code.org’s Computer Science Fundamentals courses are flexibly designed for teachers new to computer science (CS) who want to offer accessible introductory CS courses to their students.
